A: Hi, I'm Pam, and I originally studied Psychology at Leeds University.
I've always wanted to help people and, in 2019, I began training to become a nutrition and menopause coach, to support myself and women on their menopause journey.
A: I started experiencing perimenopause symptoms in 2019, just before the COVID pandemic. I routinely woke up tired, anxious, and bloated, which impacted how I managed a stressful and demanding role in corporate marketing. Members of my family were also diagnosed with major health changes at this time and lived six hours away.
I lost all my confidence, and some things had to change. If I couldn’t look after myself, I couldn’t be there for my family. Motivated by my own experiences, I started the journey of education and empowerment, seeking to deepen my knowledge and skills in menopause management and wellness.
Along the way, I completed several comprehensive training programmes and received certifications to deepen my understanding and ability to support women going through similar experiences.
Armed with this expertise and dedication, I am committed to providing holistic guidance and support to women as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of menopause.
A: Going through menopause shouldn’t be something to feel ashamed or scared about. We shouldn’t have to ‘get on with it’ or face this change alone.
In my experience, women routinely put others before themselves and are self-critical. Consider your role as a friend, work colleague, mother, and spouse. Some 660 million women are heading for menopause worldwide, and half are in the workforce. Just think of all that knowledge, inspiration, and power that can be put to so much good!
Armed with a degree of self-knowledge, I now see how my body responded positively to changes in my diet, exercise and well-being. The best feedback I received was: 'Pam - your smile is back again!'
I want to encourage women to invest in themselves at this pivotal time. It makes sense to highlight practical and effective changes we can make to our health and longevity. And yes - we are worth it!
A: The guiding approach at The Change Haven is to help my clients become better informed and empowered. I always look for evidence-based research, and new insights and follow many menopause warriors like Diane Danzebrink, Dr Louise Newson, Dr Naomi Potter, and Davina McCall.
The experiences and support from other ladies transitioning into menopause are always useful and helpful. We're all moving forward - together!
My training includes IMPART Menopause Refresher Training Level 1; Confidence in the Menopause Certification from Newson Health; Practitioners Diploma in Menopause Wellness from Gateway Workshops, and Nutrition & Weight Loss Academy Coaching Certification at Level 6, along with accreditations from the International Menopause Society.
I’m here to offer support and guidance for women who want to thrive during the menopause.
