Mangoes are a healthy way to satisfy a sweet tooth. Rich in protective antioxidants, mangoes are a soothing boost of both insoluble and soluble fibre - which will help to lower cholesterol and improve your gut health.
Check the label on canned fruit and dried types that may contain added sugar. I keep packs of frozen mangoes and other fruit, like berries, in the freezer so I always have a handy way to whip up a smoothie!
125g fresh or frozen mango
Handful of frozen berries
2 tablespoons greek yoghurt
125ml milk
1 heaped teaspoon mixed seed (flaxseed, chia, etc.)
1 tablespoon desiccated coconut
1/2 teaspoon turmeric (optional)
Toppings (optional)
Desiccated coconut
Mixed seeds or nuts
1. Put all the frozen ingredients in a blender
2. Add the yoghurt, milk, mixed seeds and coconut
3. Blend until smooth
4. Serve with the toppings of your choice.
